Cozy is the name of the game today!
The flurries may be flying but I'm snuggled up under my GIANT king-sized soft navy blanket. And fitting along with the coziness of today, I thought I'd bring along some cozy Friday favorites!
If you're in central Indiana, you know that lots of schools had closings today (#allthepraisehands for snow/ice days!!!). So ALL of us (Dan too since he's a teacher) are snug here at home. (Even the doctor appointment one of the kids had today got canceled because the office is closed!)
Check out a few of the things I'm loving, and let me know if you have tried any of these or have a similar favorite! I'd LOVE to hear from you in the comments!
1) L'Oreal Lip Stain
As a busy mom who loves be comfortable (and fairly low-maintence), I'm a big fan of this lip stain I purchased this week!
When my sister got married back in May of 2017 I had purchased a darker lip stain (not this brand) since it was a formal event. But, I realized I really needed a lighter color, and purchased this from...
I know, not super chic, right?! Well, this mama didn't feel like heading to the mall or tackling something super expensive that I might not like! I really like lip stain because I don't keep up with reapplying lipstick! For less than $12, it is worth it! The color I chose to try first is Flamingo (but I'll probably get one a shade darker next time since I like it so much!)
2) She Reads Truth : The Bible in a Year Plan
Reading through the Bible can be an overwhelming thing, and I get that it is A LOT to commit to. BUT! Hear me out on this one! Dan and I recently started using the She Reads Truth App (me) and He Reads Truth App (him), and while they offer a bunch of different plans, we chose this one!
And an awesome thing about it? IT'S FREE!
Yep! You can either read the text within the app, or your can choose to read in your own bible and mark off the sections as you read them. Doing this together has really helped keep me going as we check in to see if the other has done our reading for the day. The plan is totally DOABLE and is only about 3 chapters a day. It mixes in the New Testament with Old Testament which has been really cool!
3) Sunday Night Pizza
I don't know about you, but while I enjoy meal planning and prep for the most part (cooking really isn't the bane of my existence most of the time...echem. well...most of the time...), I could really go for a break on the weekends!
ENTER PRE-MADE PIZZA NIGHT.
Seriously. This is a highlight of my husbands week! We get the take-and-bake Pizza's from Aldi, but you could totally order pizza or pick up some from Meijer or Costco. IF you want to make it super healthy or low-carb, you could make your own (but at this point, thats a little much most weeks for me).
It is a fun family tradition we've implemented, and goes well with keeping Sunday evening low-key and relaxing. I think pre-made pizza night will be sticking around for a while!
4) Risen Motherhood Podcast
If you're a mama, and you need gospel focused encouragement, this is for you! The podcasts aren't super long (under 30 minutes I think), and they are perfect for having going in the background while you fold laundry, do the dishes, or clean up toys. The Mamas who host the show are in the trenches right there with you!
5) Lazy Perfection: The Art of Looking Great Without Really Trying
One of my favorite things about this book is her focus on how less makeup can actually be more when applied well. If you have a more classic, natural style, this book is for you!
I found this book at the library, and while I haven't read every word, even just skimming it and reading chunks of it at a time I've gleaned some good tips when it comes to makeup application and style. While I don't agree with everything she says, Its got some good stuff (which is why I recommend it!) This link is to Amazon, but I highly recommend the library for this one.
What are some of your favorites? Comment below! I'd love to hear from you!
P.S: Noe of these product images are mine...all are simply links so you can find these awesome products/services!
