The Schaefer Family | Carmel, Indiana | Family Portrait and Lifestyle Photography
Almost 6 years ago I watched Hallie and Josiah Schaefer tie the knot from behind my camera lens. It's crazy to think that their wedding (the first one I ever shot! I'll be forever indebted, Hallie for your trusting me!) was that many years ago! Now they have 3 beautiful babies! Both of our little families lived up in northern Indiana for a few years after graduating from college, but crazy enough (I know I keep saying that, but really it is!) each of our families ended up moving to Indianapolis within just a couple months of each other!
Now, the Schaefers have settled into the Northside of Indianapolis, and so I was all about hitting up gorgeous Carmel, Indiana for some gorgeous shots of their family! We landed on Carmel City Hall and The Center for the Performing Arts, and trust me! You'll be drooling over these locations! I'm pretty sure I said more than once how it looked like we had stepped into Pride and Prejudice with the beautiful architecture and stunning grounds!
Hallie and Josiah are obviously naturals in front of the camera, and I'm pretty confident they could take up modeling if they wanted!! Their kiddos were precious, and I'm just blown away by how prepared they were for their session! Their kiddos had even been counting down the days until the evening of their portrait session! Hallie pulled out all the stops and I may even ask her to guest post about prepping your family for photos...it was THAT good! Between the half gallon of water and sippy cups, to the big box of fruit snacks, and their outfit styling I was doing a happy dance!
It felt so good to get these two in front of my camera again, and it has left me SO looking forward to doing it all over again soon!
It really feels like my career has come full circle as I've pondered the fact that I was taking these family portraits right before my last wedding (next weekend). Turning my business's focus toward families this past year has been so rewarding and I'm SO grateful for the opportunity to work with such lovely people!
